A big CONGRATULATIONS to Cal Wayne for making his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT in Cessna Skycatcher N6029Z!  Cal’s instructor, Jon Owens, proudly smiled from the ground as Cal made three smooth landings at KGVL on Wednesday, October 30!  Way to go, Cal!  Everyone here at Lanier Flight Center is celebrating YOU!

Lon Shuford – Instrument Rating (10/11/13)

Lon Shuford knew when he became an aircraft owner that he wanted to become instrument-rated.  His dedication and consistency paired well with great study habits, so when he flew N291HW into KGRD on Friday, October 11, FAA DPE Randy Haralson gave him the green light!  Join Lon’s instructor, Kelly Chandler, and all of us at Lanier Flight Center in a big round of applause for Lon!  Way to go!

Tim Stephens – Private Pilot Certificate (10/10/13)

It was BLUE SKIES for Tim Stephens in Cessna Skyhawk N61942 on Thursday, October 10 as he took-off with FAA DPE Dan Emin at KPDK!  Before long, Tim received a big “Thumbs-up” from his examiner, and became Lanier Flight Center’s newest Private Pilot!  Join his instructor, Derek Metro, and all of us in congratulating Tim on a job WELL DONE!

Paul Achenbach – Private Pilot Certificate (10/05/13)

With the same focus and determination he had the day he walked into Lanier Flight Center and declared, “Let’s do this,” Paul Achenbach aced his Private Pilot practical test on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at KGRD.  DPE Randy Haralson gave Paul a thumbs-up and his instructor, David Gazda, could not be prouder!  Paul celebrated by flying N2132W back to KGVL and taking his wife up on their first flight together.  Congratulations, Paul!

Jon Owens – Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Rating (10/02/13)

Through hard work, commitment, and good study habits, Jon Owens reached his goal of becoming a CFII on Wednesday, October 2, 2013!  Already a very important part of our LFC team as an A & P Mechanic and CFI, Jon wanted to provide his customers with another rating opportunity.  His instructor, David Gazda, and all of us in the LFC family say, “Way to go, Jon!”

Davis Cook – First Solo (10/01/13)

Davis Cook’s calm demeanor on the golf course translated well into the cockpit as he took-off for his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT on Tuesday, October 1!  CFI Chuck Padgett along with family and friends watched Davis lay-up three beautiful landings!  Right on par, Davis!
