Robert T. Howell – Chief Flight Instructor
Bob Howell has been associated with aviation for over 43 years. As an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner he has conducted over 5,000 pilot fight test check rides and accumulated over 35,000 flight hours during his aviation career.

Bob started his CFI career in 1968 and his extensive flight experience includes Corporate and the Airlines. He was appointed a Designated Pilot Examiner in 1987 by the FAA and currently provides flight exams to candidates in the state of Georgia. He retired from ASA in 1998.
At Lanier Flight Center we are very fortunate to have someone of the caliber of Bob Howell to join our staff, formally coming onboard in November 2008 as Chief Flight Instructor. In addition to being a mentor to our staff of certified flight instructors he will be leading our focus to become a FAR Part 141 approved flight school. He will continue to provide professional DPE services and is based at our Gainesville offices.
