At Lanier Flight Center we recognize that our pilots are the heart of the business. It is with great pride that we join in celebrating their accomplishments and we wish a hearty congratulations to each of our pilots who have completed milestones in their training.

Ryan Whitinger - First Solo

Ryan Whitinger did, with much daring and brave valor, take command of Cessna N21527 for solo flight in the air above the Gainesville Airport on August 28, 2007. Ryan made 4 landings with flight in the traffic pattern at Gainesville and did a fine job of piloting the airplane for his first pilot in command experience!

Ryan began flight training just over one month ago and is making fantastic progress toward his certificate. Once again, I'll tell you the secret to quick progression through your training: regularly, frequently scheduled appointments with your instructor and the airplane. Keeping it fresh and staying current on the materials is the way to advance quickly through training, we've seen this demonstrated over and over again.

It's working for Ryan too. Ryan is receiving excellent instruction from John Corry and is planning to continue his training to add an instrument rating soon after his private pilot certificate issuance.
