Davis Cook – LFC’s Newest Commercial Pilot!

As a third generation pilot, Davis Cook is quickly on way to following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Not only is Davis an excellent pilot, but he is a fantastic golfer as well. With his hard work and dedication, he has definitely earned his ranks with his private pilot, instrument rating and now his commercial license. Bruce Mistarz – Private Pilot Certificate (01/29/18)

It would take a lot more than gusting winds to blow Bruce Mistarz off course during his check-ride! It was blustery outside, but Bruce remained calm and focused inside, decisively becoming Lanier Flight Center’s newest PRIVATE PILOT! Bruce’s instructor, Chuck Padgett, truly enjoyed working with him, and complimented Bruce’s good judgement and piloting skills. Rodrigo Meade – Private Pilot Certificate (01/13/18)


Whether it’s studying to become a doctor or competing in collegiate sports, Rodrigo Meade knows how to set goals and go after them! As Lanier Flight Center’s newest PRIVATE PILOT, the sky’s the limit for Rodrigo! His instructor, Rex Smith, couldn’t be prouder of his check-ride success, and says Rodrigo is eager to pursue his next goal; the instrument rating. Tanner Jorgensen – Sport Pilot Certificate (01/03/18)


Through weather delays and multiple logistical challenges of rescheduling his check ride, Tanner Jorgensen hunkered-down and persevered with a humble decisive optimism! And it’s no coincidence that Lanier Flight Center’s first pilot accomplishment of 2018 emulated the winning attitude of his college culture— the national championship contending Georgia Bulldogs! Tanner came prepared for every lesson, kept his eye on the goal, and scored a SPORT PILOT CERTIFICATE with FAA DPE Randy Haralson! Tanner’s instructor, Rick Cornelison, and all of us at LFC have enjoyed sharing his aviation journey, and know he will have many more successes! Please join us in a big, “WAY TO GO, TANNER!”

Johnny Sommers – Private Pilot Certificate (12/16/17)

Santa is going to have a hard time topping the gift that Johnny Sommers just gave himself! Johnny unwrapped the skills and knowledge necessary to become a PRIVATE PILOT! With congratulations from FAA DPE Catherine Cavagnaro and his proud instructor, David Ingalsbe, Johnny has a pilot rating to put a bow on 2017! Stephen Woessner – First Solo (12/04/17)

Just in case the man in the red suit and sleigh needs help, Stephen Woessner has earned his Solo Wings and is ready to fly! After waving to his proud instructor, David Ingalsbe, Stephen launched his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT in Cessna Skyhawk N2132W! All of us at Lanier Flight Center applaud Stephen’s accomplishment, and we know that this guy is on the “nice” list! OUTSTANDING JOB, STEPHEN!

Jackson Graham – First Solo (11/24/17)

It would take a lot more than Thanksgiving indulgences to ground Jackson Graham who made his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT in Cessna Skyhawk N393ES at PDK! Jackson’s instructor, Rex Smith said he’s picking-up knowledge and skills very quickly, and will be headed for his check ride soon! Rusty Gore – Instrument Rating (11/20/17)

We’re enjoying beautiful clear fall weather, but Rusty Gore is ready for IFR conditions with his new INSTRUMENT RATING! Rusty knows how Georgia weather can change during even a quick hop between destinations, and he demonstrated great study habits and skills while working with his instructor, Juan Leon. Rusty departed PDK in Cessna Skyhawk N2458M and returned with two thumbs-up from FAA DPE Randy Haralson! Please join all of us at Lanier Flight Center in a big, “WAY TO GO, RUSTY!”

David Van Sant – First Solo (11/01/17)

What’s more thrilling than winning a big case? You might ask successful Atlanta area attorney, David Van Sant who just made his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT! David won his Solo Wings in Cessna Skyhawk N61942 and the verdict is in; David has the right stuff to enjoy many adventures in his own airplane very soon! His instructor, Ann-Perry Blank, and all of us at Lanier Flight Center are celebrating David’s accomplishment, and applaud, “YOU DID IT, DAVID!”

Darrin Johnston – First Solo (10/20/17)

You decide.” Well, if you asked two million-miler-plus traveling corporate leader, Darrin Johnston, which he’d choose, you wouldn’t need to look further than his organized retyped study materials, determined gaze — oh — and the gigantic grin he’s been wearing since making his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT! Darrin’s resolve to reach his goals, making time whenever possible, undoubtedly will see him cross the finish line to his check ride!
