First Solo – Doug Olson

Defying gravity and atmospheric conditions, Doug Olson found the perfect window of opportunity and soloed a G1000 glass cockpit equipped Cessna Skyhawk on March 14, 2010.

Doug demonstrated to the aviation community how landings are done with several in the great category with no one but himself in the cockpit.  Instructor Derek Metro was extremely proud of his student as the airplane took to the skies twice on runway 23.  Great job, Doug!  We are all very proud of your accomplishment!
