Sam Bagwell – Private Pilot Certificate (03/24/14)


You could almost hear Sam Bagwell shout, “Here comes the sun!” as he departed KGVL in Cessna Skyhawk N2132W for his check ride on Monday, March 24.  After a few weather delays, Sam’s big day arrived and it was BLUE SKIES for Captain Bagwell!  Join Sam’s instructor, David Gazda, and all of us at Lanier Flight Center with a much-deserved round of applause for our newest PRIVATE PILOT, Sam Bagwell!  WAY TO GO, SAM!

Simon Hatfield – First Solo (03/21/14)


On Friday, March 21, Simon Hatfield’s patience with the weather paid-off when he made his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT in Cessna Skyhawk N6034B at KGVL!  Simon exhibited calm and confidence as he breezed through three beautiful landings while his instructor, Michael Morris proudly watched!  Join all of us at Lanier Flight Center in congratulating Simon on the success of this milestone achievement!  WAY TO GO, SIMON!

Steve Schnupp – Private Pilot Certificate (03/19/14)


It’s time to celebrate!  Steve Schnupp earned his PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE on Wednesday, March 19!  Steve flew Cessna Skyhawk N291HW to KGRD and passed his check ride with FAA DPE Randy Haralson!  Join Steve’s instructor, Kelly Chandler, and all of us at Lanier Flight Center in saying, “GREAT JOB, STEVE!”

Beverly Shadburn – Private Pilot Certificate (03/18/14)

Join LFC at the 40th Anniversary of Sun ‘N Fun!


In just two weeks, your friends at Lanier Flight Center are participating in the 40th Anniversary Sun ‘N Fun International Fly-In and Expo!  Every spring, aviation enthusiasts from across the globe gather in Lakeland, Florida for a week in pilot heaven.  As your Cessna Authorized Sales Representative for Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee, we will be joining Cessna for a very special show.

Revel in aviation displays as far as the eye can see while the beautiful music of the Navy Blue Angels reverberates with the quaking under your feet!  Enjoy dogfight reenactments and mind-blowing stunts!  Who says Spring Break is only for kids?  Pilots, this is your Spring Break!

Several LFC instructors have expressed an interest in flying down with customers, so call Michael at 678-989-2395(KGVL) or Brian at 770-457-1270(KPDK) if you would like to connect with a CFI and/or other customers of LFC to make the aviation journey to Sun ‘N Fun 2014.  The event is April 1 through April 6, Tuesday through Sunday, so you have several options for experiencing the displays and air shows.  Standard LFC checkout requirements and documentation are required for customers flying solo to the event, and it’s a terrific opportunity for anyone looking for cross-country time.  Contact our office or your CFI today for the one and only Spring Break for pilots!

Phil Reid – Multi-Engine Rating (03/14/14)


Join all of us at Lanier Flight Center in celebrating our newest MULTI-ENGINE RATED PILOT, Phil Reid!  Phil flew Piper Seminole, N727LF to KGRD where he left his instructor, David Gazda, and took his check ride with FAA DPE Randy Haralson!  Phil’s hard work and determination launched him into a new sphere of aviation, and we are excited for his journey!  WAY TO GO, PHIL!

Ross Lautenbach – First Solo (03/14/14)


Let’s give a big round of applause for Ross Lautenbach who made his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT at KPUJ in Cessna Skyhawk N1006V!  Ross waved to his instructor, Jesse Leftwich, and took to the skies as a solo pilot on Friday!  Keep up the great work, Ross!

Stuart Teague – First Solo (03/14/14)


Congratulations to Stuart Teague for his FIRST SOLO FLIGHT on Friday, March 14!  Stuart left his proud instructor, Jon Owens, on the ground at KGVL and made the three required solo landings- plus one to spare!  Stuart demonstrated skill and confidence in Cessna Skyhawk N6034B, and he will make a great Private Pilot soon!  Great job, Stuart!
