Finally the IFR ground school you’ve been waiting for is here! IFR ground school will be located at Lanier Flight Center in Gainesville, GA in the upstairs classroom beginning Monday January 24th, 2011. Whether you’re a seasoned IFR pilot looking for an in depth review or an IFR student in training, this comprehensive IFR ground school will provide you with the knowledge you need.
IFR ground school will be held weekly on Mondays starting January 24th, 2011 at 6:00-8:30 pm and continue for 11 weeks through April 11, 2011. The IFR ground school will be a structured classroom setting where you’ll learn everything you need to pass the FAA written exam or get your knowledge up to date. The course will be taught by senior instructor Derek Metro and the cost is only $275.00 for this vital, information packed IFR course. The course is comprehensive and subjects will include airplane instruments, attitude instrument flying, navigation systems, FAA regulations, airports, Air Traffic Control and Airspace, holding and instrument approaches, weather information and IFR enroute flying, risk management, aeromedical factors and more!
The course materials you will need are FAR/AIM, Airport Facilities Directory, the FAA Instrument Procedures Handbook, IFR Enroute Low Altitude L-17/18 Chart, E6B Computer, and Gleim’s FAA Instrument Pilot FAA Knowledge Test Book. For your convenience all of these are available in our GVL Pilot Shop.
